Ready to fill your home with the sweet scents of summer? Look no further than Target’s Opalhouse Brand candles. In this review, I’ll walk you through these 15 oz two wick candles, each priced at just $10.

Upon lighting the candle, the strong scent of melon immediately caught my attention. Despite being described as having jasmine notes, I predominantly detected a pleasant vanilla aroma that complemented the melon fragrance. I would rate this candle a 6 out of 10. While it’s not unpleasant, it’s not my favorite either.

This aromatic candle exudes a powerful cherry fragrance even before it’s lit. While I used to have an aversion to anything cherry during my younger days, my preferences have evolved over time. Surprisingly, I now appreciate cherry scents and flavors occasionally. Despite being described as having apple and strawberry notes, the prominent fragrances in this candle are cherry and strawberry. I would rate this candle 7 out of 10, finding it more enjoyable than Melon Glow, although it doesn’t top my list of favorites.

This candle exudes a delightful apricot fragrance as indicated on the label. While I detected a subtle hint of orange, the promised ginger scent eluded me. Additionally, I perceived a delicate touch of vanilla, and found its aroma reminiscent of Melon Glow. Overall, I rate it a 6 out of 10.

Now we are talking! I love pineapple so naturally I had a great feeling about this candle. This candle caught my attention because aside from loving pineapple, I used to love slushies as a kid. Lighting this up quickly brought me back to some nostalgic memories of being a carefree kid on a warm summer day with a slushy in hand. Those were the days. I’m giving this a 10 out of 10 rating because of the scent, and the memories it ignited.

Just the title of this candle had me thinking it was going to be great. I’m going to be honest, I have no idea what cactus flower or ozone are supposed to smell like but this candle was a treat for the nose. I smell a bit of coconut and hint of vanilla and maybe even a bit of lily. If you close your eyes while this is burning, you may think you are at a private island. You already know I’m giving this a 10 out of 10 rating.

WOW! My favorite out of all the Opalhouse Brand Summer Scents this year. I do love a good woodsy scent and this candle includes teakwood, along with coconut. Apparently coconut is my friend this year when it comes to my nose. I haven’t been to Hawaii, but I bet this is what it smells like. I would give this a 15 out of 10 rating if I could, but I’ll settle for 10 out of 10, even though it’s my absolute favorite.

Review of Threshold Brand Candles: A Splurge Worth Every Penny

In the realm of luxury candles, the Opalhouse Brand takes a backseat as we shift our focus to the exquisite Threshold Brand candles. Priced at $17 each, these candles exude opulence with their triple wood wicks, making them a worthwhile investment. These can also be found at Target.

This candle smells just like it sounds. A mixture of citrus fruits and sand. Obviously not a combination you want to eat, but for a scent, it is quite lovely and it fills the home with subtle beachy vibes. The crackling of the wood wicks is an added treat for the senses if you enjoy campfires. Imagine a campfire at the beach this summer. I’m giving this a 9 out of 10 rating.

This is probably one of the strongest smelling candles of the eight I reviewed. If you like your candles a bit more subtle, or if you struggle with allergies this may not be for you. The scent is very citrus combining starfruit and nectarine. I’m giving this a 7 out of 10 because although I enjoyed it, it was a bit strong for me.
